Group Classes
Group Classes are taught by the Smooth Flava Dance instructors every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Group classes are held at the at the Bartley Temple United Methodist Church located at 1936 NE 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL, 32641, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Group classes are held at the Rosa B. Williams Community Center located at 524 NW 1st Street, Gainesville, FL, 32601, on Sundays. Classes begin at 7:00 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday, and at 4:00 p.m. each Sunday. Facial Masks are optional for the indoor group classes. The fee for non-Smooth Flava members is $10 per class. Class fees are included in the monthly Smooth Flava Dance dues for active members.
Line Dance Classes are taught by our Smooth Flava Dance Lead Instructor, Wanda Lloyd, and guest teachers. The Community Line Dance classes are every Tuesday and Thursday at the Bo Diddley Community Plaza located at 111 E. University Ave., Gainesville, FL, 32601, from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. (weather permitting). Community Line Dance classes are co-sponsored by the City of Gainesville and are free to the public. Donations are accepted. Additional line dancing is available from time to time on Sundays from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Rosa B. Williams Community Center located at 524 NW 1st St., Gainesville, FL, 32601. The fee for non-Smooth Flava members is $10 per class. Private (one-on-one) Lessons are available for an additional cost and are to be coordinated with the Lead Instructor by emailing smoothflavagnv@gmail.com. The fee for private lessons varies and will be determined by the lead instructor.
CHICAGO STYLE STEPPIN CLASS
SUNDAY - 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 p.m. (2hrs)
An eight step dance...counted 123, 456, 7, 8.... Level one moves are taught without a partner. As moves are mastered, women and men are paired up to learn the art of leading and following. Level one moves are basic in place, up/back basic, cross basic, walk up cross basic, left turn and right turn. PARTNER NEEDED.
DFW SWINGOUT CLASS
TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS at 7:00 p.m.
SUNDAYS - 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
An eight step dance...counted 1, 2, 3&4, 5&6. Level one moves are taught without a partner. As moves are mastered, women and men are paired up to learn the art of leading and following. Level one moves are the basic, full turn, half turn, walk, u-turn, and step 2. PARTNER NEEDED

URBAN BALLROOM CLASS
TUESDAYs & THURSDAYS - 7:00 p.m.
Ballroom has a style of its own and its cadence is stated "right up, left up, right back, left back", The "cha cha cha " cadence is the basis for urban ballroom at the Beginner Level. Beginner moves are taught without a partner. As moves are mastered, women and men are paired up to learn the art of leading and following. Beginner moves are ballroom up, chacha up, side chacha, half turn and full turn. PARTNER NEEDED
